Hosts such as Ricky Ricardo and DJ David keep the mood lively, while shaded seating offers a quieter escape.

“Chica Locca, the operator, delivered a great experience; DJ David was very playful and made the time on the boat fly by. Crew was the absolute definition of attentive. For example, one passenger tracked a bunch of sand onto the deck of the boat. When that passenger realized his mistake, he went to shake his shoes off over the side of the boat. As soon as he stood up, a member of the crew was there to mop up the mess. Literally right away. None of the crew was ever still, either cleaning the boat surfaces or serving passengers. The only down side is that I never got the massage…”

Swim in clear pools, explore caves and cascades, enjoy a local meal for an extra fee, and sample coffee, cocoa, honey, and mezcal along the way.

“The tasting experience is a commercial sales pitch. It’s a waste of time. I did not pay to spend 1.5 hours seeing a commercial and taste a bunch of stuff and pressured to buy things. This should be a half day trip without a visit to the tourist trap, which is a shop and a buffet meal that the tour guide earns a commission from. I booked the tour to the waterfall and that’s it. No need for a meal or a shop to visit. That can be done on my own.”

“We paid for a bilingual guide and got one who couldn’t speak but a few words of English. He gave wonderful background on all the sites… only in Spanish. The only reason I give this three stars is that the falls were great and the guide kind. But we did not receive what we were told. Save the money and take a taxi.”
