Isla Mujeres: Catamaran with Open Bar, Snorkeling and Lunch

1.Catamaran with Open Bar, Snorkeling and Lunch

★★★★★★★★★★4.1 · 2,848 reviews · 8 - 10 hours · from $59Our pick

Sail from Cancun to Isla Mujeres on a lively catamaran with an open bar, a short reef snorkeling stop, beach-club access, and free island time. Guides such as Ivet, Luis, Juam, and Romando are praised for keeping the day friendly and organized. Choose carefully between the basic and lunch options, and budget an extra $20 dock tax.

“First of all, the staff was what made this experience so wonderful. They were all absolutely the best. The catamaran was beautiful, big and comfortable. The snorkeling was beautiful although very crowded but it is a very special place so that was no surprise. We had a great time on the island thanks to the guide’s recommendations to go to the north beach. The beach club was my least favorite part and I could have done without but we still had a great time. I would do this tour again and will recommend it to anyone who will be traveling to Cancun.”

The mood can be lively and party-focused, so families should read the details carefully.

“Great job by all staff, they were very communicative & helpful! Spoke both Spanish and English fluently. and awesome locations. Good drinks, decent buffet, & a nice snorkeling experience. The only reason I chose to leave 4 stars is 5 is because when we showed up at 915am for a 10am departure (they recommended 930am) we didn't even board the boat until 1030 and departed at 11am. I'm sure that's normal but we could have slept in and saved another hour had they just communicated when their actual boarding was. I recommend wearing lots of sunscreen as well; You will be in the sun all day. If you are a…”

“Be careful with pick up. Viator did not communicate with Cabo Adventures and while I thought I had arranged pick up (according to Viator) Cabo Adventures did not. have it. Glad I called to confirm. Other than that, the tour was average. We saw a few whales from a distance but nothing spectacular.”

“You should completely avoid this tour. Poor communication before the trip. I selected a pick up point at check out and when you ask the time to pick up, they would avoid the question and ask you to meet at the port. After spent 120 on taxi to get to the meeting point, the tour was cancelled due to wind. There was no communication and all telling their customers not to show up. I saw another group as disappointed as we were. The company didn’t initiate a refund and I had to contacted viator for the request. On top of that, they charged $20 pp for docking fee, because the…”

“We had a great time on our catamaran cruise. We had to reschedule due to weather, but were able to go out the day after we had originally booked. Because of this, there were only 3 of us on our boat. Willy and Fernando were absolutely wonderful! We went to two snorkeling spots and then cruised around a bit. Fernando went snorkeling with us to show us different fish and point out creatures hiding in the reef. 4 hours was a perfect amount of time for what we wanted and having the boat to just ourselves made everything so much more peaceful and enjoyable. We would absolutely do this again…”

Guides such as Mike, Omar, and Grace have earned praise for friendly service. Expect a $20 reef tax and possible weather changes.

“Very Disappointing. Not worth the money. The boat was very nice and wish the trip was mainly on the boat. The snorkeling trip was a joke. You have to have a lifejacket tied to your waist so you can't touch any reef or coral I get that but there was really nothing to see and the guide was so rude. Just kept yelling to stay beside him. Not enjoyable at all. The next stop was a swim spot where the captain yelled at you to stay inside the rope. Next dropped off, at a tourist trap for 2 hours. Last stop, was lunch buffet and beach or pool. Ok. Whole…”

Guides such as Bam, Carlos, Panda, and Abraham are known for keeping the mood lively. Expect a social party boat, not a quiet yacht cruise.

“First off, this trip was absolutely hilarious and extremely fun. Lucky for us, everyone else had booked a full day tour so we got upgraded from a half day to a full day for free which was great. The way to snorkeling was fun; however, when snorkeling we were not given fins and were not divided into groups. So, it was really a really big group of people. If you want to do a full snorkel tour, I would suggest getting a tour that purely does snorkeling. Nevertheless, the beach was fun, the food was good, and the tour guides were fun, welcoming, and charismatic. Our tour guide in particular…”
