Guides such as Susana, Alex, Pepe, and Tlal have led recent departures, while weather controls the snorkeling schedule.

“Some issues with communication between guide and back office which resulted in a delay for 30 min. But the guide Lara was nice and gav us some compensation. There was little breakfast snack before going to Isla Mujeres. Isla Mujeres had pretty blue beach but the Island had some wear. The street sellers are aggressive and will try to be friends with you by saying they are the waiter from your hotel 😅. Contoy was very pretty but the guards are very strict with not touching the vegetation (palm trees). Lunch was delicious! Snorkeling was also fun but the two lines the guide tryed to have us make was kinda…”

“We had the best time with our guide Lorenza and our captain Victor. We saw sea lions, sunfish, dolphins, and humpback whales, not to mention tons of tropical fish. The lunch was delicious as well. Lorenza was passionate about the sea life and provided interesting information along the way. Highly recommend! We will use MTA for future explorations for sure. Thanks for the memories!”

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 594 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $190

Meet MeXplore in central La Paz for a small-group whale shark snorkeling trip led by a marine biologist such as Angel, Carla, or Maria. You’ll receive a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, safety briefing, and several surface swims, with snacks and GoPro photos included. The tour usually lasts about three hours.

“Our whale shark tour was canceled the afternoon before the trip, due to the harbor being closed due to wind. This is not the operators fault, however we found out cancelations are way more common than the operators will tell you, especially in January, February and March. Fortunately we found other tours and still had a great time. The area has a lot to offer other than awesome whale sharks!”

“I took my two children 10 & 11 on this tour ,they stopped at 3 areas to snorkle & the 4th is a shallow sandbar with Stingrays just casually just swimming around you, we seen a small turtle right near the boat & the kids fed the fish some crushed up tortilla chips from the boat it was a proper frenzie. We didn't participate in the snorkeling & there was another family aswell that did the same, we just ended up doing the shallow waters with Stingrays & fish. A very good tour, the taxi from the ferry port is about 12 minutes drive or 1 hour 20 walk”

Food and drink both ways all you can drink alcohol. The snorkeling was amazing but the two hour on the private island was breath taking. Sea life everywhere, and I mean huge starfish. No crowds. Social media posters dream location. Lunch on a private beach was also a nice treat. Would highly recommend this trip. Just realize it is a whole day excursion. Try to arrange you own transportation. We were in a van for 2 hours each way because we had to…”

The water was very cold but doable (just doable for me as I hate cold water) . Can’t say we were surrounded by seals bur we certainly got up close with a few darting about under us. Great to see them move underwater and pop up near you. Lunch was on a beautiful beach with only a couple of other boats. We ate on the boat which was good as we had somewhere to sit…”
